Holy Wave Albuquerque Concert reviews
Disappointed
Rachel Platten was great! We enjoyed her very much.... sweet, genuine, energetic, obviously very talented. Holy Wave came out and did a few songs and I thought "who are these people?". We were very much looking forward to the show, we were making a weekend of it, as it was in a venue 175 miles away. I guess we were expecting them to be more like the you tube videos and tv specials we've seen. There is nothing that Ticketmaster could do to make it better, as I'm sure this is all personal preference. I wanted to hear their beautiful pure voices. I couldn't understand the words, the beat box was too much. It was so loud, my husband said "It was assaulting me. I could feel it in my chest." Additionally, I bought really good seats, but right at the first song, everyone was standing. After about 6 songs, my husband and I left. As we were leaving, we heard them start "Sounds of Silence" one of my favorites. We listened for a bit in the lobby, could have gone back in, but we left, thinking they were going to go back to the other kind of music. Lots of other people were loving it, but I wonder how many others were surprised with that kind of sound. Guess we'll just watch their you tube videos.
